Travel by train and bus
Take the train to Roermond (or Sittard if you come from directions Maastricht, Belgium, Austria or the South of Germany).
For exact train details, go to: www.ns.nl (chose english language)
There is a new cheap public transport solution in the area. It’s called Omnibuzz.
The phone number of Omnibuzz is (0031) (0)46-4756060. Please call them for more details and to reserve a seat.
Alternative (not on evenings and week-ends)
During the week you also can take the train to Echt and take bus 192 (little bus across the street, when leaving the station) to Maria Hoop (20 minutes, 1 and a half euro, stop: Church).
This bus goes only on Monday till Friday, every hour at .54 (so 6.54, 7.54 etceteras). The latest bus is 18.54.
If you have the train in Roermond at .36 you will catch this bus easily, because it takes only ten minutes from Roermond to Echt.
Travel by car
From Highway A2/E25 (between Eindhoven and Maastricht):
You leave the highway when Echt is on the signs, follow the signs in direction of Echt. In Echt, just keep on driving straight through the village.
At a certain moment you will cross the railroads. When you can’t continue anymore (at traffic lights) go left and directly right again, continuing in this way (direction Koningsbosch). Follow this road.
When you have left the village, after about 2 kilometers there is a sign to the left in the direction of Maria Hoop. Follow that road.
Entering the village you’ll see the Danda on your right hand.
